On film: Korea

At the end of 2015, I went on a trip around Korea with one of my best friends.

We flew straight into Seoul and were greeted with snow in freezing November temperatures. Taking in the sprawling city from the top of Seoul Tower and finding the tastiest bibimbap were just a couple of highlights. We ate anything with traditional red bean filling and took a particular fondness to Bungeo-ppang (waiting for this take off in Melbourne).

The snow fall up in World Heritage area Namhansanseong meant we attempted to eat at restaurant without being able to speak a word of Korean. To this day, there is no confirmation as to whether we managed to avoid eating any sort of questionable meat.

Many night markets caused this trip to be both a cultural and culinary tour of Korea. The impressive pharmacies stocked with all kinds of niche beauty and skincare products was where the remainder of our time was spent. A pale girl like myself was glad to finally find a perfect shade match!

It's the little things, JW
